Santiago Calatrava

21 Sep

Words fail me. M needs to get a job working with this guy, quite possible the greatest living architect . Not a bad gig, office in Zurich, world travel, fusing art and science. Calatrava’s art marries an understanding of the beauty of the body with the technical wizardy involved in defying gravity with thousands of tons of steel and glass.

Lunch at the ravenous pig

21 Sep

Roasted maitaki mushrooms, buttermilk blue cheese, almonds, frisée , balsalmic vinaigrette . Perhaps the best salad I’ve ever had .

The umatilla smash. A prohibition- era style cocktail with palm ridge whiskey, charbay Meyer lemon, muddled spiced pears , and Demerara syrup. It was the best cocktail I’ve ever had .
No pic of the mahi sandwich with Bibb lettuce, and roasted tomato with truffle fries.

Que rico!

So what were the chances that the Indian restaurant we bumped into in Jacksonville Florida had the yummiest masala dosai, coconut chutney and sambar ? So good we’ll have to make a special stop on the way back.
